We left at 4:30 am City of Cusco and pass by the towns of Limatambo Izcuchaca and then arrive at Mollepata at approximately 9.00am. After a stop for breakfast we start our first installment, then a stop for lunch at Silcakancha and after three hours of walking we reached Soraypampa overnight.
After breakfast we prepare to continue our walk, (considered the strongest of the trip) reaching Salkantaypampa, then turn to the left side of the mountain called Umantayblanco which is near the Nevado del Salkantay, reaching the highest point at 4,650 meters. called Umantay. from this point observe the snow and glaciers of Salkantay, then continue for lunch in the community of Huayrac then descend and continue our trek to Challhuay, here is our second camp. Overnight.
This day will be memorable for the great variety of flora and fauna to see the passage of time, also see the formation of hot springs in the valley of Sahuayacocha, had lunch and then take a bus to Santa Teresa. We’ll see varieties of orchids and waterfalls of great magnitude and see crops grown coffee, fruit trees, bananas, avocados, pomegranates and finally arrive at our third camp Santa Teresa.
After breakfast, this will be a quiet day at Machu, we reach the place called hydro for lunch, here we close support staff, here you can decide whether to continue the walk or take the train to Aguas Calientes Hydro. Overnight stay in a hotel.
After breakfast we took the bus to go to the archaeological site of Machu Picchu, on arrival, guided tour of the Citadel, visiting the Main Plaza, the Temple of the Sun, the Sun Dial, the Royal Tomb, Temple of the Three Windows and Water Temple. Free time to stroll around the archaeological complex. In the afternoon return by train to Cusco.
